ACT, SAT, PSAT, AND AP INFORMATION

Why are these tests important?
The SAT and ACT are standardized college readiness exams that help indicate what level of maths and English a student should be placed in going into college.

The PSAT is the practice exam currently given by the school for free to 10th and 11th graders only to help students prepare for these exams.

AP testing is an opportunity for students to earn college credits for taking an AP course in high school and passing the exam at the end of the year.

When should I take these College readiness Exams?
The ideal time to take the SAT or ACT is the spring of your Junior year as you will have ample math and English knowledge to score well. This will also give you the opportunity to take the exam more than once, which we suggest doing to give yourself the best opportunity to score higher. It may also be beneficial to take the SAT once and the ACT once as the tests are different and you may score differently (better) on one over the other.

Dates and Deadlines
Please pay close attention to deadlines to avoid paying late fees. If you qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch, you will be able to take the SAT or ACT for FREE TWICE. If you need help registering, please see your counselor.
