During Inclusive Schools Week, Mrs. Jakimiak and Mr. Trotty's classes got together for some crafts and cookies.

Our grades K-2 students had a fun trip today to CMS to see "Newsies Jr.". And they got to enjoy some snowflakes on the way over!






Our 2nd graders have been working on using multiple sources to research information.



4th graders participated in an engineering workshop this week provided by high school engineering teacher Mr. Brescia. Students were challenged to design a machine to solve a problem using engineering principles.










As part of Inclusive Schools Week, we celebrated Abilities Day at Zane North on Tuesday 12/5. To learn about different ways that individuals learn and to emphasize the importance of understanding and respecting both our similarities and differences as individuals, students participated in various learning stations that incorporated sensory integration, adaptive physical education, communication strategies, and kindness and anti-bullying discussions. Thank you to our team at Zane North for coordinating these activities which were excellent learning experiences for our students!

Collingswood High School engineering teacher, Mr. Brescia, provided an engineering workshop for our 5th graders today. Groups worked together using legos and engineering concepts to design a machine.

Mrs. Gafas's 5th graders participated in "Giving Tuesday" this week, by giving the gift of their time to help others at the school. The students spent their time by: reading non fiction books with 2nd grade and taking notes on important information; helping preschool students in learning centers; moving materials; delivering papers; helping 1st graders with Fundations work; supporting kindergartners in science; and helping 1st grade with door decorations. Thank you 5th graders - we are grateful for your kindness!

We recently conducted our Fall Awards assembly, where students were recognized for exemplifying positive character traits that we emphasize at Zane North - Citizenship, Respect, and Sharing/Cooperation. Students were also recognized for their efforts in reading, writing, math, and class participation. Congratulations to these Zane North Stars!
