Penguin unit in Mrs. Curley's class

Today we enjoyed a Black History Month assembly provided by author and storyteller Thembi Palmer. This assembly honored the significant contributions of African American artists, William H. Johnson (painter) and Elijah Pierce (wood carver). Students explored their lives and achievements, learning about the impactful legacies of their art. The program took students on a journey of discovery through songs, interactive activities, and, of course, storytelling. Thank you to our Zane PTA for coordinating this assembly.

Mr. Trotty's class started taking about Martin Luther King, Jr. Day this week. The kids had some great ideas of ways people can be kind. Sharing, loving each other, including, giving hugs, listening to each other, and spending time together.
